Benefiting Interfaith Emergency Services

A majority of the gifts made to IES come in the form of cash, via check, credit card, or wire transfer. A gift of cash entitles you to the most generous federal income tax deduction available for charitable contributions. You may deduct up to 50 percent of your adjusted gross income for gifts of cash and may carry any amount over that figure forward for up to five additional years.

Checks should be made payable to “Interfaith Foundation of Marion County” and mailed to:
PO Box 992

Ocala, FL 34478

For payments by Visa, Mastercard, or American Express, please call Karla Grimsley CEO at

A gift of appreciated securities that you have held for more than one year is frequently the most economical way to give. You will be eligible to take a federal income tax deduction equal to the fair market value of the stock on the date of the gift for up to 30 percent of your adjusted gross income and will not have to recognize the appreciation as capital gain. Following is specific information about how to give securities or mutual fund shares to IES Foundation:

Types of Securities may include:

  • Securities held by your bank or broker
  • Securities held by you
  • Mutual fund shares

Please notify your bank or broker that you are making a gift of securities to the IES Foundation and instruct your bank or broker to telephone Gregory E Stevens at 352-401-3800 as well as Karla Grimsley CEO IES at 352-629-8868 as they will provide you the necessary instructions.

Many employers give generously to educational institutions by matching employees’ charitable contributions. If your company does not currently provide a matching gift please contact us at 352-629-8868 and we will contact your employer to review this valuable program.

Your gift can have an even greater impact if your company has a matching gift program.

In some cases, your spouse’s company may match your gift.  If your company is eligible, request a matching gift from your employer, and send it completed and signed with your gift. We will do the rest. The impact of your gift may be doubled or possibly tripled! Some companies also match gifts made by retirees. (IES Foundation Federal Tax ID: 59-3086806)
